Mashreq announced the end of its Ramadan drive in association with Beit Al Kheir Society, a humanitarian beneficial entity as the recipient. The collective spirit and generous team effort contributed to the success of the campaign. All donations were made by bank staff and management.
Anaita Bhaskaran, Head of Rewards & Organization Development and Mohammed Al Atassi, Head of Corporate Communications handed over all donations to Saeed Mubarak Al Mazroui, Deputy General Manager of Beit Al Kheir Society.

Mashreq supports skilled inmates at Dubai Police
Reinforcing its commitment towards CSR, Mashreq collaborated with Dubai Police - The General Department of Punitive & Correctional Institutions to showcase items and products made by inmates. The two days activity (27 - 28 July) that took place in Dubai Outsource Zone witnessed the attendance of employees interested in purchasing the items and supporting the talented inmates.
Products ranging from gift items, household products, clothing, toys and furniture were fully hand-made by the inmates on merit of their individual skills and talent.

Mashreq organises donations campaign with Beit Al-Khair Society
Mashreq announced the launch of its Ramadan Drive in association with Beit Al-Khair Society, a humanitarian beneficial entity established in 1989. The drive takes places the Holy month of Ramadan, is aimed to collect donations from employees, both in kind and cash. All proceeds from the one month long campaign will go towards the Orphans program by the Society.
The campaign comes in line with Mashreq’s CSR strategy and asserts the bank’s efforts to constantly participate in noble causes and support the community.

Mashreq organizes blood donation campaign 2011
Mashreq recently organized its bi-annual blood donation campaign. The campaign which was held in collaboration with the ‘Blood Donation Centre’ in Al Wasl Hospital comes in line with the bank’s corporate social responsibility program and responsibilities.
The blood donation campaign was held at Mashreq offices in Dubai Outsource Zone, with the participation of 120 employees. The blood donation is a directed to support Thalassemia patients, who are constantly in need of blood every 3-4 weeks.

Mashreq delivers the donations for Japan's Earthquake Victims
Mashreq employees presented a cheque of AED 28,211 to the Japanese Consulate in Dubai to help Japan in its efforts to rebuild after a magnitude 9.0 earthquake on March 11th and triggered a tsunami which killed thousands and left countless others homeless.
This action was taken by Mashreq and initiated by the Corporate Banking team to recognize Mashreq's corporate social responsibility efforts to support the people of Japan at this time of immense grief and misfortune as this noble step was successful by your valuable contributions.

Mashreq achieves CSR label 2011 accreditation
We are pleased to announce Mashreq's accreditation by Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Label program launched by Dubai Chamber of Commerce.
CSR Label program is designed to award organizations and institutions that are socially responsible in the communities they operate in.
Over the past year, we have been working with them to enroll Mashreq and get their accreditation to demonstrate our position as a leading financial institution in the UAE on CSR activities.

Mashreq assists over 7000 customers in 2010
Mashreq Assist, the unique debt counselling service has managed to offer advice and assistance to over 7000 customers in 2010 seeking financial guidance. This highlights the importance of Mashreq’s debt counselling facility encouraging its principal to borrow wisely.
Set-up in September 2009 this service has been increasing utilised by customers in financial stress with almost 900 customers walking in monthly into Mashreq Assist to discuss their financial situation with a trained debt counsellor.

Mashreq joins HCT Foundation's 100 corporate
Mashreq, one of the UAE’s leading Financial Institutions has signed an agreement with Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) to become one of the founding members of the HCT Foundation’s HCT 100 corporate group. With this agreement, Mashreq sponsors a Professor in Banking and to provide HCT students with opportunities to develop skills and careers in the growing UAE banking sector.
The agreement was signed by Dr Tayeb Kamali HCT Vice Chancellor and Douglas Beckett, Head of Retail Banking Group, Mashreq.
During its 3 year sponsorship, Mashreq will offer specialized seminars and training programs in banking to HCT students it will also offer various internship programs and arrange for field visits to the bank’s various operations.

Abdul-Aziz Al-Ghurair addresses the 5th Young Arab Leaders summit
H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai graced the Fifth Annual Young Arab Leaders (YAL) Regional Entrepreneurship Summit with his presence. H.E Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair the CEO of Mashreq addressed the Summit as the key note speaker and Mashreq was one of the main sponsors for this event.
To open, H.E Al Ghurair stated: "the youth population in the Arab world has reached 113 million, which shows us that we have many obstacles to overcome to guarantee the success of the youth, who will then face the challenges of the future." Al Ghurair added that for Arab economies to stabilise, private businesses need to make up 70 per cent of Arab nations' gross domestic produce (GDP); while the public sector should contribute 30 per cent.

Mashreq and Murdoch University organize a competition to MBA students
In line with its CSR commitment towards education, Mashreq collaborated with Murdoch University and announced a marketing competition for Murdoch’s MBA students. Students were asked to conduct research into the financial industry and come up with new marketing ideas tackling the remittance market.
Murdoch University Dubai is an accredited official branch of Murdoch University, which is based in Perth, Western Australia.
The competition was part of the Marketing Management course at Murdoch Dubai. Students were asked to deliver a comprehensive marketing approach for one of Mashreq’s new initiatives. This competition constitutes 70% of the course grade and covers market research, analysis, environmental scanning, consumer behavior understanding and financial projections amongst other topics.

Blood Donation Drive
As a part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiatives and in association with the Dubai Health Authority Blood Donation Centre, on a special request by Al Wasl Hospital the Mashreq Blood Donation Drive was organized once again on November 02nd and 03rd, 2010 at DOZ.
More than 124 staff across the Bank volunteered to be a part of this drive.
Through this drive, each one of us has contributed to the Blood Donation Center at the Al Wasl Hospital by providing blood for several ‘Thalassemia’ children, cardiology patients, leukemia patients and thousands of other people who are either terminally ill or victims of tragic accidents and whose lives depend on blood supplies being available.

Mashreq recently announced the launch of its annual Ramadan drive in association with the UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA). The drive which is in its second year is part of Mashreq’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives and in keeping staff with the spirit of Ramadan.
The Proceeds of the donation campaign are set to aid victims devastating flood victims of Pakistan’s that hit the country recently. Campaign donations will also target other countries around the globe to supply them with food and clothes.

Mashreq joins hands with Dubai Cares
Mashreq, one of the leading banks in the UAE has announced its year-long partnership with Dubai Cares beginning with the ‘School Feeding Campaign’ which was launched by Dubai Cares on the first day of Ramadan. The Campaign aims to raise awareness about the lack of access to food and nutrition that children face in developing countries and how this adversely affects their access to primary education, as well as their personal and physical development.

Mashreq Gold hosts calligraphy exhibition for Emarati artist
Mashreq Gold, the premier banking service of Mashreq is hosting a calligraphy exhibition by UAE National artist Narjes Noureddine. On the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan, the exhibition showcases the unique art of Arabic calligraphy.

Mashreq launches debt counseling service
As consumers increasingly start to feel the pressures of an economic slowdown, Mashreq, one of the UAE’s leading financial institutions, announced today the launch of ‘Mashreq Assist’, a unique debt counseling service for Mashreq customers facing difficulties. UAE Red Crescent Received 600,000 from Mashreq to Support "Al-Aqrabon" Campaign
The United Arab Emirates Red Crescent society received a cash contribution from Mashreq of more than 600,000 Dirhams for the Local Campaign carried out by the Authority, under the slogan “Al-Aqrabon “to strengthen its efforts in order to support poor families and meet their needs. And to improve their living conditions.
The cheque of donation received by Red Crescent,Dubai Branch. The amount was collected by Mashreq donating one dirham for each transaction on any of Mashreq credit card, this activity is done to promote partnership and stimulate humanitarian and charitable efforts, to improve the life of people with limited income targeted by the UAE Red Crescent.

62 UAE Nationals complete Mawarid Al Mashreq training programme
Abdul-Aziz Al-Ghurair presented graduation certificates to 62 Nationals who will be employed in Mashreq after completing the three month Mawarid Al Mashreq training programme. These graduates will be employed at the Corporate Banking Group, Operations Group and Mashreq Al-Islami.

Mashreq Hosts Students From Dubai Women's College On a Financial Tour to Hong Kong
