Our Board Members represent Mashreq’s veteran senior management cadre, with wide-ranging experience and expertise in assorted aspects of banking and financial services  

Ali Raza Khan
Chief Financial Officer, and Head of Corporate Affairs
A seasoned and accomplished banking professional with a rich experience of more than 40 years across finance, operations, human resources and strategic planning, Khan joined Mashreq in 1980. Throughout his sterling career with the bank, he has made significant achievements in the fields of organisational alignment and transformation, management information systems, special-focus HR initiatives, and strategic fiscal management. He has a strong hands-on approach to projects of widely differing nature, and a proven expertise in leading large and diverse teams.

Khan has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India since 1978. He holds a bachelor’s degree in science from Kanpur University, India.

Sandeep Chouhan
Executive Vice President, and Group Head of Operations and Technology
Chouhan has a distinguished career of over 30 years in banking, information technology, operational excellence and transformation, through senior positions he has held in India, Singapore, New York, London, Doha and Dubai. Among his previous roles are that of Senior Technology Officer and IT Director at Barclays, CTO at Morgan Stanley’s International Consumer Banking Group, and COO and Executive GM at The Commercial Bank of Qatar.

Chouhan is a Chartered Professional of the British Computer Society. He has a bachelor’s from India’s National Institute of Technology and a master’s in Technology, Management & Systems from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.  He holds advisory posts and serves on the Boards of several companies.

Santhosh Mahalingam

Managing Director, Mashreq Global Services
With more than 22 years of retail banking experience, Mahalingam’s multiple areas of expertise span operations, projects, finance, process engineering, digitization and general management. He has a proven track record of managing large cross-cultural and cross-border teams, exceeding targets, and improving operational efficiencies through transformation and digitisation. Before joining Mashreq in 2014, he held senior positions at Standard Chartered Bank, Qatar National Bank , and Standard Chartered Scope International where he headed Consumer Banking Operations and Change Delivery.

Mahalingam has a bachelor’s degree in commerce from St. Joseph’s College, Calicut, and an MBA in finance and marketing from the University of Calicut, India. He is also a qualified Executive Coach (PCC) and Certified NLP Practioner

Nitin Bhargava
Chief Technology Officer, and Head of Business Technology
A transformation wiz, Bhargava has led transformational change across various functions for close to 30 years, in technology programmes, business operations, product development, credit and sales, and testing. His expertise lies in managing large teams spread across the globe, scaling projects, automation, and productivity improvement projects.  

In his earlier roles, Bhargava has served as Regional Technology Head at Citibank and CQO of Investment Banking Technology at JP Morgan London, and was responsible for setting up centralised testing services for Barclay’s. He has a bachelor’s degree in commerce from India’s Hindu College, and an MBA from The Ohio State University, where he topped the course as a Weilder Scholar.  

Neeraj Grover
Head of Central Accounts, Corporate Affairs
After joining Mashreq in retail finance in 2005, Grover moved to central finance where, for the next 10 years, he oversaw all aspects of the international banking finance function, including correspondent banking, business planning, budgeting, performance measurement and formulation of annual plans. In his current role, he manages financial and regulatory reporting for the bank. Earlier in his career, he has worked at Thapar Group, HCL Group and Standard Chartered Group in different roles for internal audit, accounting, finance and project management. 

Grover has a commerce degree from the University of Lucknow and is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

Gautam Kumar
Head of Offshore Development Centre; Head of Core Banking, Payments & GIC
Kumar leads a large team that caters to Mashreq’s IT and infrastructure needs in application development, production support, networking and security management. With 25 years of experience in IT outsourcing services, solutions and products in finance and telecom services, he specialises in helping large multinationals set up Global In-house Centres (GICs) and Centres of Excellence. In his previous positions at Tavant, Logica CMG and Usha Comm, he has handled large and complex projects in the areas of finance, logistics, telecom billing and pre-paid telephony, serving global markets in the US, UK, Africa and Latin America.

Kumar has a bachelor’s degree in electronics from Nagpur University and has completed an Executive Management Programme from IIM Bangalore, India.
